In the past years the backbone of our education scheme was various technical training programs as well as internal training about our own rules, processes or user programs. Our objective outlined early this year is to belong to the forefront of the construction industry.
This needs (among others) professional, prepared staff members and coordinated teamwork. Besides technical knowledge, education, qualification i.e. hard skills also soft skills i.e. various competences and their high-standard application are also indispensable. What are soft skills more specifically? For instance negotiation techniques, time management, communication skills, organization and management skills as well as team work. All of us use these skills in the course of work depending on our personality and our acquired knowledge. Everything can be developed and made perfect. Therefore, we would like to support our colleagues by teaching them new management methods and techniques.
The first station of this was a two-day management training for our project leaders.
As a project manager it is not enough to be good in technical issues and work coordination but good management skills are also required: a smaller or larger group has to be mobilized, motivated, you have to set goals for them and to delegate tasks, to make them give account and to check their results, to resolve conflicts, to use appropriate forms of communication, give feedback as well as to efficiently collaborate with staff members possessing various personality marks. We support our project managers in strengthening these skills through training.
